PWC Acceleration Test Results
Acceleration of the most popular personal watercraft models, as measured by Florida Institute of Technology
The acceleration was measured using a Stalker* Radar acceleration program and Racepak* data acquisition system with Tim Judge as the test rider. BRP's two-seater Sea-Doo RXP-X watercraft narrowly edged the three-seater Sea-Doo RXT-X watercraft in 0-50 mph (0-80 km/h)acceleration testing by a mere .16 seconds, to officially become the quickest PWC in the industry in 2009. Both Sea-Doo models were at least one full second – or several boat lengths – faster than the closest competitor, the Yamaha FZR, with the RXP-X watercraft a full 1.18 seconds faster than the Kawasaki Ultra 260X.
